Sounds of Machane Yehuda
Machane Yehuda — Jerusalem’s bustling shuk — is more than a marketplace; it’s a living symphony. The hum of voices, bargaining calls, the hiss of espresso machines, and the laughter spilling out of bars all weave together into a rhythm that tells the story of Israel’s heart.
Through my lens, I set out to capture not just the colors and textures of the market, but the essence of its soundscape: vendors calling out their produce, the clatter of dishes, street musicians filling the alleys with song.
The project celebrates the raw energy and diversity of the market — its people, its chaos, its beauty. It’s an invitation to step inside, to hear the market as much as see it, and to experience Jerusalem’s most iconic gathering place as a full-body story.
